Create a category

Description

This guide explains how to create a product category and configure its various options.

Steps to Create a Category

1. Access the product category management module.
2. Click on "Add a Category".
3. Fill in the required information following the details below.
4. Save the category to make it available in the system.

Category Details

1. Name

   • Enter the name of the category.

2. Description

   • Provide a detailed description to clearly identify the category.

3. Entity

   • Specify the entity to which the category is linked:
     • Product
     • Option
     • Package
     • Item

4. Parent

   • If this category is a subcategory, indicate the parent category.

5. Display

   • Determine how the options in this category will be displayed in the configurator:
     • Default: Options displayed as a list.
     • Image: Options displayed as thumbnails with a highlighted image.
     • List: Options displayed as a table (list format).

6. Use in the Question Generator

   • Enable this option if the category should be included in the choices presented by the first question, "Help me choose", when creating a quote.

7. Only One Option Can Be Selected

   • Enable this option to restrict selection to a single option within this category.

8. At Least One Option Must Be Selected

   • Enable this option to make selecting at least one option in this category mandatory when submitting a quote.
