Description
This guide explains how to create a product category and configure its various options.
Steps to Create a Category
- Access the product category management module.
- Click on "Add a Category".
- Fill in the required information following the details below.
- Save the category to make it available in the system.
Category Details
Name
- Enter the name of the category.
Description
- Provide a detailed description to clearly identify the category.
Entity
- Specify the entity to which the category is linked:
- Product
- Option
- Package
- Item
- Specify the entity to which the category is linked:
Parent
- If this category is a subcategory, indicate the parent category.
Display
- Determine how the options in this category will be displayed in the configurator:
- Default: Options displayed as a list.
- Image: Options displayed as thumbnails with a highlighted image.
- List: Options displayed as a table (list format).
- Determine how the options in this category will be displayed in the configurator:
Use in the Question Generator
- Enable this option if the category should be included in the choices presented by the first question, "Help me choose", when creating a quote.
Only One Option Can Be Selected
- Enable this option to restrict selection to a single option within this category.
At Least One Option Must Be Selected
- Enable this option to make selecting at least one option in this category mandatory when submitting a quote.
